Seattle Smooth turned the seven-furlong G2 Bed O' Roses Stakes into a procession when strolling home the five-and-three-quarter-length winner on Saturday at Aqueduct.
The Quiet American four-year-old has made just 11 career starts, coming home in front in five of these, including last season's Bay Meadows Oaks and the G2 Fitz Dixon Cottilion Stakes, in which she beat Kentucky Oaks winner Proud Speil . She has also been placed in the G2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes.
A $340,000 yearling, Seattle Smooth was bred in partnership by Dr Oscar Benavides and Darley. She is out of the Seattle Song mare Our Seattle Star and now races for Mercedes Stables LLC.
Seattle Smooth is the third Stakes winner for Quiet American this year, whose other scorers in 2009 are Scolara and Star Guitar.
