Rydilluc runs away in G3 Palm Beach Stakes
Medaglia d'Oro colt Rydilluc took his Graded Stakes debut powerfully March 3 as a runaway winner of the G3 Palm Beach Stakes on the turf at Gulfstream. It was the third win in a row for the three-year-old, who has posted significant margins in each of his victories on the turf.
In the one and one-eighth mile race Rydilluc settled comfortably just off the lead in second. Entering the far turn the colt took over the top position, and extended his lead in the stretch to easily win by three and one-half lengths.
Bred by Hill 'n' Dale Equine Holdings, Inc. & Gaines-Gentry Thoroughbreds, LLC, Rydilluc is out of the Stakes-winning mare Swift And Classy. He is a half-brother to multiple Stakes winner Gold Wonder, as well as two other Stakes performers. The colt's second dam is G1-placed Sociable Duck.
A tremendous sire on all surfaces, Medaglia d'Oro has sired such stars as Horse Of The Year Rachel Alexandra, G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty, and Marketing Mix, a winner of the G1 Rodeo Drive Stakes on the turf in 2012. His most recent G1 winner was Violence, who took the G1 CashCall Futurity to become the ninth winner at the highest level for Medaglia d'Oro. He is now the sire of a total of 20 Graded/Group winners lifetime.
Medaglia d'Oro stands at Darley USA for $100,000 Stands and Nurses.
