Rockport Harbor juvenile Harbingerofthings impressively broke her maiden July 30 in the Jamestown Stakes at Colonial Downs at five and one-half furlongs on the turf. It was only the second start for the filly, who is juvenile Stakes winner number two from Rockport Harbor's second crop.
Out of the gate, Harbingerofthings dashed directly to the lead to set the pace. Extending her lead in the stretch, she went wire-to-wire to score smoothly in the turf event. Play Eighteen, by Henny Hughes, completed the exacta.
A homebred for owner R. Larry Johnson, Harbingerofthings is out of Kelly's Question, by Mr. Greeley. The mare is a half-sister to Stakes winner What It Is and Stakes-placed runners Dowhatisay, Notwhatido, and What Do I Do.
Sophmore Rockport Harbor is the sire of nine Stakes horses to date. Among them is undefeated juvenile Stakes winner Banner Bill. He has also sired multiple Graded Stakes winner May Day Rose from his first crop of runners.
