Desert Party has been retired from racing and will stand his first season at Darley's Jonabell Farm in Lexington, Kentucky in 2011.
Desert Party, a son of Darley flag bearer Street Cry, recorded Graded Stakes victories at two, three and four.
Purchased for $2.1 million at Fasig-Tipton's Calder two-year-old sale, Desert Party won Saratoga's G2 Sanford Stakes the same year. He returned at three with a pair of victories at Nad Al Sheba, including the G3 UAE 2000 Guineas - which he won by almost five lengths - and was beaten just half a length in the G2 UAE Derby.
At four he landed the six-furlong G3 Mahab al Shimaal at Meydan before returning to the United States for what turned out to be his final start, the Donald LeVine Memorial Handicap, winning by three-and-a-half lengths at Philadelphia Park. He retires with six wins from ten starts and earnings of $928,467.
Darley's Chief Operating Officer Olly Tait said, "This is a horse that we felt was headed for Grade I success. Physically, he is a fantastic individual and we're very excited to have him join our roster."
His fee will be announced at a later date.
