Notte d'Oro strong in Marie G. Krantz Memorial Handicap
Four-year-old Medaglia d'Oro filly Notte d'Oro notched her second win in a row, and first in Stakes company, January 17 in the Marie G. Krantz Memorial Handicap at Fair Grounds.
In the one-and-one-sixteenth mile race Notte d'Oro was racing off the pace in seventh, but into the stretch the filly came on with a tremendous move and captured the win impressively in the final furlong.
Bred by Twin Creeks Farm, Tom Clark & Nancy Clark, Notte d'Oro is a half-sister to G2 winner Red Rifle. Both are out of the Stakes winner and multiple-Graded placed mare May Night, herself a half-sister to Stakes winner and Graded-placed Sangam.
Medaglia d'Oro, the sire of 31 Graded or Group winners around the world, has already been represented by G2 Ft. Lauderdale Stakes winner Mshawish in 2015. Among the sire's top runners are 2014 G1 winners Lochte and Coffee Clique, as well as Horse Of The Year Rachel Alexandra, G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty, and G1-winning turf mare Marketing Mix.
Medaglia d'Oro stands the 2015 breeding season for $125,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
