New stakes winner for Elusive Quality
The Niarchos Family’s homebred Poupee Flash, by Elusive Quality, landed her first black-type win on Saturday in the Listed Prix Occitanie over nine furlongs at La Teste de Buch in France.
The three-year-old filly, who was runner-up in the G3 Prix Cleopatre in May, is a daughter of the A.P. Indy mare Modesty Blaise, who is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Aldebaran and out of another Grade 1 winner in Chimes Of Freedom.
Elusive Quality has also sired two very well bred maiden juvenile winners in the UK this week. On Saturday, Snow King won on debut at Ascot for Princess Haya. Out of Ascutney’s daughter Cloudspin (Storm Cat), he is a three-parts brother to Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass, who sired his first stakes winner at Goodwood on Tuesday when Steeler won the Listed Peter Willett Stakes.
Earlier on the Goodwood card, Raven’s Pass’s full-sister Snow Rose won a fillies’ maiden over a mile on her second racecourse appearance for Godolphin.
Poupee Flash is the 79th stakes winner for Elusive Quality, whose eight individual Grade or Group One winners include Elusive Kate, Quality Road and new Darley Australia stallion Sepoy.
