Darley stallion Elusive Quality recorded a new Stakes winner on November 18, when his three-year-old daughter West Ocean took the Flitalong Stakes at Aqueduct.
Taking up the lead early on in the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile contest on the turf, West Ocean was pressed hard by Denomination in the stretch but battled well and won by a neck.
Bred by SyBon Racing Stable LLC, West Ocean is out of the multiple Graded Stakes winner Ocean Drive (Belong To Me), herself a half-sister to G1 winner Traitor.
Elusive Quality has now sired 16 individual Stakes winners this year, including the record-breaking G1 winner Quality Road and G3-winning, G1-placed juvenile Elusive Pimpernel. His fee for 2010 is $75,000 Stands and Nurses.
