Dorf Command will be aimed at next Saturday’s G1 Winter Stakes after an impressive win in the Listed Gai Waterhouse Classic at Ipswich on 13 June.
The three-year-old daughter of Commands, who was recording her fifth win, was bred by Mr H Fessl and is out of Mezdorf (Cossack Warrior). She has a two-year-old full-brother named Village Command. Dorf Command is the most recent Stakes winner for Commands, following up the victory of Purple in the G1 Queensland Oaks on 30 May.
At Clairwood in South Africa, Eight Street landed the G3 Cup Trial over 1800m. The four-year-old colt was bred in Australia by Flame Tree Stud Pty Ltd and is by Street Cry from the Octagonal mare Figure Of Eight.
Eight Street was not the only Stakes performer for his sire on a busy Saturday. In the US, Seventh Street, who was making her first appearance since winning the G1 Apple Blossom Handicap on 4 April, ran second in the G1 Ogden Phipps Handicap while Temple Street was third in the G2 Fleur du Lys Handicap and Princess Haya ran second in the Listed John W. Rooney Memorial Stakes.
