It was a huge coup for Frosted on Monday following the selection of his three-time Stakes-winning son, Ingratiating, to represent Godolphin in their slot for the world's richest race on turf in the $15 million The Everest at Royal Randwick on Saturday, 15 October.
Ingratiating's selection comes off the back of an impressive second-place performance in the G2 Schillaci Stakes over 1,100m at Caulfield on Saturday, 8 October.
Godolphin Australia's Managing Director, Vin Cox, commented to TDN AusNZ that the colt's selection was based on his current form and wet-track record were key factors in them choosing the Group 3 winner.
"It would validate his existing form, which is rare in as far as he won the first 2-year-old race of the (2020/21) season at Flemington in the Maribyrnong Trial and won it brilliantly.
"He then comes out and wins the Talindert, places in a Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper, he wins a (G3) Vain Stakes on his ear… he’s a horse with serious ability and a stallion’s profile.”
“If he runs a big race in The Everest, that only adds to that profile and to his value as a stallion prospect.”
Ingratiating is from the Lonhro mare Obsequious; Frosted stands the southern hemisphere season at Northwood Park for a fee of $38,500 (including GST).
