Incredicat incredible at Woodbine
Second-crop sire Discreet Cat already has two Graded Stakes winners to his resume, and April 21 he added his newest black-type winner as heavy favorite Incredicat was victorious in the Wando Stakes at Woodbine.
Traveling one and one-sixteenth miles, Incredicat took charge on the lead from the gate. He maintained position throughout the race and posted a wire-to-wire score in only his third start. The three-year-old colt was an impressive debut winner at two over the same Woodbine course.
Incredicat was bred by Kinghaven Farms Limited, and is out of Lady Auchamore, by Meadowlake. He is a half-brother to Stormy Lord, a G2 winner of nearly $1 million. The colt's second dam is Stakes winner Explosive Kate.
Discreet Cat has put forth a terrific 2012 thus far, with G2 Fantasy Stakes winner Mamma Kimbo and G3 Sham Stakes winner Out Of Bounds. Incredicat becomes the sire's third Stakes winner from his first crop of runners. He is also represented by two additional Stakes horses, among them G2-placed and highly regarded Discreet Dancer. A winner of the world's richest Derby by six lengths, Discreet Cat was rated the equal of the magnificent Bernardini at three.
Discreet Cat stands at Darley USA for $12,500.
