Hit It Once More went straight to the lead out of the gate and won going away by almost four lengths in the nine furlong Albany Stakes at Saratoga on August 26.
It was the second consecutive Stakes win for the three-year-old son of Hard Spun after a similar performance in the New York Derby at Finger Lakes last month, for which he received a career best 102 Beyer. The Gary Sciacca-trained colt has now won four of his five starts this season.
Bred in New York by JMJ Racing Stables LLC, Hit It Once More is out of Sunday Geisha (by Sunday Break), winner of the Trenton Stakes and placed in the Listed My Juliet Stakes.
Hard Spun enjoyed a terrific year in 2015, siring G1 winners Hard Not To Like, Hard Aces, and Smooth Roller. Hard Spun’s eight Stakes winners this year include Graded winners Hard Aces, Big John B, Reload, and Khusoosy.
