Say hello to Ello Guv, a two-year-old gelding by Discreet Cat who became the 19th winner for the freshman sire with a victory December 18 at Golden Gate. In the one mile turf race Ello Guv settled well off the pace early on to save ground. He began to inch past the field before finding running room in the stretch to drive home for a late surging victory.
Ello Guv was bred by Lemons Mill Farm and is a half-brother to German Stakes winner/Group-placed Tarkheena Prince, Stakes winner Coimbra, and Group-placed in France Clerical Error. He is out of the Alleged mare Tarkheena, a half-sister to Graded Stakes winner Heron Cove, who also has a yearling colt by Street Sense.
Discreet Cat has had a tremendous few weeks lately to close out 2011. His son Discreet Dancer was a track record-breaking debut winner at Gulfstream on December 3 and earned a Beyer of 100. The colt was followed by Cat Lore who was a remarkable six length winner in her first start at Fair Grounds. Out Of Bounds, out of Breeders' Cup winner Unbridled Elaine, won well at Hollywood December 11. He has sired a total of 19 two-year-old winners to date.
Discreet Cat will stand the upcoming breeding season for $12,500.
