Adena Springs’ Green Light Go took the lead right out of the starting gate and was never threatened as he rolled to a three-and-a-quarter length victory in the Listed Stymie Stakes at Aqueduct 26 February.
The win was the second straight for the five-year-old son of Hard Spun, who also captured the G2 Saratoga Special as a juvenile. Connections of the talented bay horse indicate that the G1 Carter Handicap in April will be his next start.
Green Light Go was bred in Kentucky by Adena Springs and races as a homebred for Stronach Stables. He is out of the Pleasantly Perfect mare Light Green, winner of the Fall Aspen Stakes and second in the G1 Prioress Stakes. Light Green is out of the Stakes winning mare Green Light and is a half-sister to Stakes winner Run the Light.
Hard Spun is coming off a successful year which was highlighted by Aloha West, winner of the G1 Breeders’ Cup Sprint and Silver State, winner of the G1 Met Mile. The stallion was also represented in 2021 by additional Graded Stakes winners Summer in Saratoga (G3 Rood & Riddle Dowager Stakes) and Antoinette (G3 The Very One Stakes).
Hard Spun is standing the 2022 breeding season at Jonabell Farm for $35,000, stands and nurses.
