Goldwood showed her talent as one of the best turf sprinters in the country with a dominating wire-to-wire victory in the Unbridled Elaine Stakes at Monmouth Park 8 June.
The five-year-old Medaglia d’Oro mare took command right out of the starting gate and never looked back as she cruised to a two-length victory over Factorofwon.
Goldwood was bred in Kentucky by her owner, Colts Neck Stables LLC, and is out of Crimson Maple, a winning daughter of Rahy. Crimson Maple is out the multiple G1 winner and blue hen mare, Maplejinsky, making her a half-sister to Champion Older Mare and Filly Triple Crown winner, Sky Beauty.
Goldwood is one of 66 career Group or Graded winners for Medaglia d'Oro whose back catalog includes G1-winning sons and daughters like Rachel Alexandria, Songbird, Talismanic and other fellow Jonabell stallion Astern, to name a few.
