Funny Proposition demolishes opposition
Funny Proposition became the 23rd Graded Stakes winner for her sire Medaglia d'Oro with a dominant all-the-way win in the G2 Fleur de Lis Handicap at Churchill Downs, June 15.
After jumping brilliantly in the one-and-one-eighth mile race, Funny Proposition controlled the race and when she kicked clear turning for home the daughter of Medaglia d’Oro quickly put the race beyond doubt.
On the line, Funny Proposition was five lengths clear of last year’s winner and raging hot favorite Royal Delta.
Bred by Russell L. Reineman Stables, Funny Proposition is out of Stakes-winning Distorted Humor mare Humorous Miss. The win was her fourth victory in just nine starts and her first Black type success.
With six Stakes performers already this month, Medaglia d’Oro continues to build a formidable record at stud. He has now produced 23 Graded/Group winners are on all surfaces including renowned Horse Of The Year Rachel Alexandra and G1 Kentucky Oaks winner Plum Pretty.
