A flashing late run carried Endanger to his second win from his only three starts in the Listed Gothic Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday, 17 October, adding another credit to the record of his sire Medaglia d’Oro.
In a performance that suggested he is capable of more important success, Endanger overpowered his opposition to score by a half-length from Osamu (Excced And Excel).
Endanger had previously won on debut at Cranbourne, Victoria in July and was placed at Moonee Valley at his only other run.
The colt trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman is a son of the Stakes-winning Flying Spur mare Hazard, a daughter of the good producer Dawn Attack whose six foals have all been winners, four of them at Stakes level.
It is also the family of the three-time G1 winner and successful sire Desert King whose 27 Stakes winners include the triple, G1 Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva.
Endanger becomes the 142nd Stakes winner for the former shuttler Medaglia d’Oro who stands at Jonabell Farm, Kentucky.
