Elusive Quality's Eh Cumpari shines in G3 Palm Beach Stakes
Darley-sired runners stole the show in the G3 Palm Beach Stakes March 7 at Gulfstream as Elusive Quality's Eh Cumpari and Discreet Cat's Felifran finished one-two in the event.
In the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile turf race, Eh Cumpari ran along the outside near the back of the field. Around the far turn the three-year-old colt began to accelerate towards the lead, traveling wide and then stormed down the lane to capture the win.
The well-bred Eh Cumpari is out of the Sadler's Wells mare Bells Are Ringing, a half-sister to G1-winner and sire Unbridled's Song. Eh Cumpari, a $225,000 Saratoga yearling, is a half-brother to Stakes winner Abby Road and was bred in Kentucky by Turner Breeders, LLC.
With the win, Eh Cumpari becomes the 44th Graded Stakes winner lifetime for sire Elusive Quality, a list that includes the likes of G1 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass, G1-winner and 2014 top freshman sire Quality Road, G1 Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, and Australian Champion Sepoy. Among the sire's other 2015 Stakes winners is North Slope, an impressive winner of the Evening Attire Stakes at Aqueduct in late February.
Elusive Quality currently stands for $40,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
