Colorado Girl becomes Elusive Quality's 14th G1 winner
The sire of talented runners around the globe, Elusive Quality was represented by his 14th G1 winner lifetime June 20 as four-year-old Colorado Girl captured the G.P. Roberto E Nelson Grimaldi at Gavea in Brazil.
In the one-and-one-eighth-mile turf race Colorado Girl settled into second position to stalk the pace along the backstretch. Around the far turn she was in pursuit of the lead, taking over the top position. Into the stretch all were chasing her and the filly coasted to an easy victory.
Winning her fourth Stakes race lifetime, Colorado Girl is out of the Brazilian Stakes winner and Group-placed Oklahoma Girl. The filly was bred by Haras Anderson.
Other top runners for Elusive Quality this year include G2 Santa Ynez Stakes winner Seduire, G3 Orchid Stakes winner Beauty Parlor, and G3 Palm Beach Stakes winner Eh Cumpari. Also mong the sire's 14 G1 winners lifetime are Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, 2014 leading freshman sire Quality Road, Australian Champion Sepoy, and Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass.
