Animal Kingdom's first foals will hit the racetrack this year and we couldn't be more excited. We already know that he proved himself to be one of the best of his generation with victories in the G1 Kentucky Derby and G1 Dubai World Cup. At stud, he's been greatly supported by breeders who consistently send him many of their best mares. In fact, his first three books of mares are the best for any stallion of his sire crop by Class Performance Index (CPI).
A recent visit by our nominations department to Florida confirmed the exciting feedback that we had been hearing about his two-year-olds of 2017. As you can see from the reports below, many of the top conditioners in the "Sunshine State" have some very good things to say about them.
Todd Quast from Goldmark on his filly out of Somethinaboutbetty
“Class from the day she got here. Done everything right. Moves very well. We’ve had no complaints. I can’t say enough about how we like her.”
Ken Lejeune on his colt out of Queens Carousel
“In my opinion, he is physically a superior individual with a great mind. Beautiful mover and looks crazy fast. He has all the bells and whistles to be a superior racehorse.”
Eddie Woods on his four two-year-olds by Animal Kingdom
“Really good sized horses. A lot of quality. Beautiful movers. Train well.”
Tristan DeMeric on their filly out of Four Gifts
“We have an elegant, well-balanced Animal Kingdom filly out of the Graded stakes-winning mare, Four Gifts. She is a big, pretty individual with a generous stride and a classic look."
Ian Brennan from Stonestreet on his filly out of Silk 'n Sapphire
“She trains really well. Beautiful mover. Does it easily. Acts like she can really run. Great mind.”
Phil Schoenthal on his filly out of Taboo
“We went down to Aiken to see her train last month and were thrilled with how she has grown and progressed since the sale and I am extremely excited to see her under my shedrow this spring. Anybody who has bought a lot of yearlings has surely had the experience of not being as pleased with a youngster four months after the sale as you were the day the hammer fell. But so far we still think the possibilities are endless and are over the moon to have her.”
Hal Hatch on his colt out of Mesa Fresca
“ Really awesome. Can easily see that he’s going to develop into a nice horse. He’ll be as nice a horse as you’ll see in the March sale at OBS. Going to be a nice three-year-old.”
