Another Animal Kingdom three-year-old with strong staying potential has emerged from the Australian autumn with the win of Wild Planet in the Restricted Listed Inglis Guineas at Scone.
Wild Planet displayed the same, bold, front-running style as Angel Of Truth, Animal Kingdom’s Australian-bred son who became his sire’s first G1 winner in last month’s G1 ATC Australian Derby at Randwick.
Jockey Tommy Berry allowed Wild Planet to stride clear in the early stages and the gelding then found plenty when challenged by Military Zone (Epaulette) who completed a Stakes quinella for the Darley stallions.
The win was Wild Planet’s third, an earlier Listed winner in Melbourne placing him among Animal Kingdom’s 10 Stakes winners.
Wild Planet is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Salutaions whose granddam Toast Of The Coast is a G2 winner.
Animal Kingdom, the G1 Kentucky Derby and G1 Dubai World Cup winner, stands at Jonabell Farm for a fee of US$15,000 stands and nurses.
