After an excellent juvenile season that included a runner-up finish in the G2 Royal Lodge Stakes, Al Musmak, by Night Of Thunder, registered his third win from seven career starts in the Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes on 12th July.
Never far off the leaders in the main pack of the eight-furlong affair, Al Musmak gained steadily throughout the straight and stayed on best to pull away at the wire for a very professional two-and-a-quarter length victory.
Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock Limited in Ireland, Al Musmak is out of Parton (Kitten's Joy), a daughter of French and North American G1 winner Proviso.
Al Musmak is yet another three-year-old winner for his sire, which now totals 52 on the season, more than any other European stallion. His three Group-winning sophomores have come in three countries; Economics, the brilliant winner of the G2 Dante at York, Dynamic Pricing winning a G2 at Churchill Downs, and Romantic Style landing a G3 at Deauville.
