Three for Discreet Cat

Prom Queen is sire's third two-year-old winner at Colonial

In only her second start, two-year-old filly Prom Queen proved worthy of her heavy favoritism with a determined maiden victory at Colonial Downs July 9. The Discreet Cat youngster broke sharply and darted straight to the lead out of the gate for the five and one-half furlong turf event. The filly held position and further opened up her lead in the stretch to win by a half-dozen lengths.

Bred in Kentucky by Royal Pegasus, Prom Queen is out of the Elusive Quality mare Talent Queen. Her granddam is G3 winner Parade Queen, who produced Untouched Talent, victress of the G3 Sorrento Stakes and place-getter in the G1 Del Mar Debutante.

Freshman sire Discreet Cat is now the sire of three juvenile winners. In addition to Prom Queen, his winners include Son de America and Kinnikonick. The son of Forestry was rated the equal of Bernardini at three. Among Discreet Cat's best wins is the G1 Cigar Mile, in which he matched the fantastic Easy Goer's track record.
