The two-year-old filly Elusive Kate, by Elusive Quality, earned her second Black type victory as she landed the Group 3 Prix du Calvados over seven furlongs at Deauville. Winner of three races in four runs, the John Gosden trained filly is now set to bigger plans in the future to run against the top juvenile fillies in Europe.
Elusive Kate was bred in Kentucky by Clovelly Farms and is owned by Magnolia Racing and Ms. Rachel Hood. The filly is out of the mare Gout de Terroir, a half sister to the multiple Grade 1 winner Pleasantly Perfect.
In 2010 Elusive Quality had more Stakes wins than any other US sire including in that group the Grade 1 winner Quality Road. He also enjoyed tremendous success in Australia in 2011 as his juvenile Sepoy won the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes and the Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes.
