Discreet Marq stamps a win in Ticonderoga Stakes at Belmont

G1-winning daughter of Discreet Cat adds another Black type win

No stranger to the winner's circle, Discreet Cat's four-year-old daughter Discreet Marq added her fifth Black type win to her record October 18 in the Ticonderoga Stakes at Belmont Park and surpassed $1 million in earnings.

Sent off as the 4-5 chalk in the one-and-one-sixteenth-mile turf race, Discreet Marq was in second position early, four-lengths off the pace. Around the far turn she began to gain ground and came away with the lead at the top of the stretch to run away an easy winner by four lengths.

A homebred for Patricia Generazio, Discreet Marq's other Stakes wins include strong performances in the G1 Del Mar Oaks and G2 Sands Point Stakes as a three-year-old. The filly is out of the multiple Stakes winner and Graded-placed mare To Marquet, who has also produced Stakes-placed runners Marquet Cat and Marquet Madness.

Discreet Marq has been represented by 16 Stakes winners to date, from every crop to race. In addition to Discreet Marq, the sire's other G1 winners include G1 Carter Handicap winner Dads Caps and G1 Chandelier Stakes-winning filly Secret Compass.
