Hubba Shake, rattles and rolls in Florida

Two-year-old son of Street Sense last to first in Gulfstream Stakes

Although the Listed Armed Forces Stakes on October 4th Gulfstream Park was Hubba Shake's first turf start, the juvenile colt by Street Sense just may have found his best surface with an impressive win in his first-ever areer added-money start.

As the race unfolded, Hubba Shake found himself racing along in mid-pack as the field marched through a honestly-paced six furlongs. Approaching the final turn, he was shuffled back to last in the field of 11 but unleashed a solid and steady run to pass them all down the lane to win impressively.

Bred by Farnsworth Farm in Florida, Hubba Shake is a half-brother to the Stakes-placed Medaglia d'Oro filly Swinger's Party and the G3-placed Powhatan County.

Street Sense is having an excellent year in 2014 highlight by G1 winners Sweet Reason, whose next start will be in the Breeders' Cup Fillies and Mares Distaff, along Hallowed Crown, now undefeated and at the top of the four-year-old colt division in Australia. Street Sense's ten total worldwide Stakes winners this year also include Cigar Street, another one slated to race on World Championship Day later this month in the Breeders' Cup Classic.  Also on October 4th, son Sayaad finished a strong third to Horse of the Year Wise Dan in the G1 Shadwell Turf Mile.
