Discreet Cat juvenile colt remains undefeated

Private Prospect wins second consecutive Stakes

Although Private Prospect was the only colt in the Prairie Meadows Juvenile Mile field of six with a Stakes win over the track, the crowd made the Arlington Park shipper, Recount, the favorite off of his maiden win. However, the son of Discreet Cat must not have noticed his 5-1 odds on the tote board as the improving two-year-old remained undefeated in three career starts.

Private Prospect tracked the leaders in third down the backstretch but as the field passed the half-mile pole, he began to go after the top pair and grabbed the lead as the field turned for home. Despite lugging out in deep stretch, he dug in and still held on for the win.

Private Practice is out of the Stakes-placed mare Private Deputy, also the dam of Stakes-placed Privately Approved. The colt was bred by Randal Family Trust, R David & Marylyn A Randal Trustees.

Discreet Cat has been represented by Stakes winners from every crop to race. They include three G1 winners and a total of eight Graded/Group winners to date - most recently Dads Caps who wired the G1 Carter in April. In 2013 his daughter Discreet Marq won the G1 Del Mar Oaks and Secret Compass won the G1 Chandelier Stakes.
