Shuruq sails in G3 Burj Nahaar at Meydan

Third Group victory for Elusive Quality filly

You could call Elusive Quality's four-year-old daughter Shuruq a professional at Meydan, as the filly beat the boys and stormed to another Group victory March 8 in the G3 Burj Nahaar.

The filly notched her third Group victory, having won the G3 UAE Oaks in 2013 and more recently the G2 Al Maktoum Challenge R1 in January.

In the one-mile race on the all-weather, Shuruq was towards the back of the pack early on. Advancing throughout the race, the filly took control in the stretch and swept past competitors for the commanding win.

A Darley homebred, Shuruq is the first foal for G2 Challenge Stakes winner Miss Lucifer (FR). She is trained by Saeed bin Suroor.

Elusive Quality is the sire of quality runners at the highest level around the world, including G1 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass, Australian Champion Sepoy, G1 Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, and multiple G1-winning filly Elusive Kate. Shuruq ranks among 32 Graded or Group winners for the sire.

Elusive Quality stands for a fee of $50,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
