Street Sense filly wins G3 Comely Stakes

Street Sense's three-year-old daughter Wedding Toast celebrated her fourth win in a row November 30 taking the G3 Comely Stakes at Aqueduct. The filly was coming off a four-length score in the Belle Cherie Stakes at Belmont in October, and prior to that victory she was an impressive fourteen-and-one-half-length winner at Belmont.

Heavily favored in the one-and-one-eighth mile race, Wedding Toast was sent straight to the lead of out the gate. Holding position throughout, the filly digged down in the stretch when challenged to come away a winner.

Bred by Darley, Wedding Toast is out of the Coronado’s Quest mare Golden Sheeba, who is a half-sister to five-time G1 winner Congaree and Stakes winner and G1-placed Sangaree.

Currently atop the third-crop sire list in North America, Street Sense has had a fantastic year as a sire. He is the sire of nine Graded Stakes winners thus far in his career. Among them are G1 Spinaway Stakes winner Sweet Reason, G1 Humana Distaff victress Aubby K, and multiple Graded Stakes-winning filly Unlimited Budget. A son of the talented Street Cry, Street Sense remains the only horse to win both the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and G1 Kentucky Derby.

Street Sense will stand the upcoming breeding season for $40,000 stands and nurses.
