Tromso becomes Lonhro's 41st Stakes winner

Consistent gelding lands Listed Ladies Day Cup at Hawkesbury

Consistent Lonhro gelding Tromso became the 41st Stakes winner for his sire with a thrilling victory in the Listed Ladies Day Cup over 1400m at Hawkesbury, Australia, November 7.

Listed-placed as a three-year-old back in 2010, the now seven-year-old broke his Stakes race duck with a tough on-speed effort in his 39th career start.

Bred by Warren Taylor, Tromso is the first Stakes winner for Listed-winning Quest For Fame mare Feelers, whose granddam was New Zealand Horse of the Year Tidal Light.

The sire of five G1 winners, Lonhro will be joined on the Darley America stallion roster in 2014 by his G1-winning son and leading Australian first-season sire Denman.

Lonhro will stand the upcoming season at a fee of $30,000 live foal, stands and nurses alongside Denman who will stand his debut season at $15,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
