Ticker Tape Home slipped through an opening along the inside rail and edged clear of favored Gal in a Rush to win the G3 Seaway Stakes at Woodbine on Saturday, 24 August.
The Live Oak Plantation runner earned her first Graded Stakes win in the Seaway, and provided her sire, Medaglia d’Oro, with his second Woodbine Stakes winner of the weekend, joining the promising filly, Shifty, who captured the Catch a Glimpse Stakes on Friday.
Ticker Tape Home was rated in fourth early, content to track the trio of Owen’s Tour Guide, Time Passage, and Swall as they battled each other through the early stages of the race. That trio continued to lead the way through the far turn and to the top of the stretch, as Gal in a Rush rapidly gobbled up ground on the far outside. Meanwhile, Ticker Tape Home was full of run and desperately looking for a seam to slip through. That opening finally came deep in the final furlong and Ticker Tape Home took advantage, slipping through along the rail to collar Gal in a Rush late to win by a long neck.
Ticker Tape Home was bred in Ontario by Sam-Son Farm and is out of Journey Home (War Front), winner of the G3 Jimmy Durante Stakes and placed in both the G2 Mrs. Revere Stakes and G3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes. Journey Home's dam, Soul Search (A.P. Indy), was placed in both the G1 Juddmonte Spinster and G1 Personal Ensign Stakes during her racing career.
In addition to his weekend Woodbine winners, Medaglia d’Oro is also the represented by 2024 Stakes winners Delahaye (G3 Old Forester Mint Julep Stakes), multiple Stakes winner, Spirit of St Louis, Nash (Hot Spring Stakes), Our Pretty Woman, Loved and Kallos, winner of the G2 Rubiton Stakes in Australia.
