Sweet Reason best in the G1 Test

Street Sense filly earns third career G1

Sweet Reason certainly passed the test August 2 winning her third career G1, and second in a row, as the favorite in the G1 Test Stakes at Saratoga. A winner of the G1 Spinaway over the course as a two-year-old, the Street Sense filly most recently stole the show in the G1 Acorn at Belmont in June.

In the seven-furlong race the three-year-old filly was in between horses in eighth, before traveling wide at the top of the stretch and making her kick in the final furlong to take the win.

Sweet Reason is out of the Stakes-placed Mt. Livermore mare Livermore Leslie, and is a half-sister to G3 winner and G1-placed Don't Forget Gil. The filly was bred in Kentucky by Darley and Brent and Beth Harris.

Sweet Reason is one of 11 Graded Stakes winners for Street Sense, also the sire of G1 Humana Distaff winner Aubby K and multiple Graded Stakes winner and G1-placed Unlimited Budget. A talented son of Street Cry, Street Sense remains the only horse to ever win both the G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile and G1 Kentucky Derby.
