Star Guitar soars again

Son of Quiet American earns incredible 17th Stakes victory

Quiet American's millionaire son Star Guitar nailed a fifth Stakes win in a row August 13 in the Evangeline Mile Handicap at Evangeline Downs. It was a remarkable 17th Stakes victory for the six-year-old. Most recently, Star Guitar posted a wire-to-wire win in the Louisiana Showcase Classic Stakes in early July.

Breaking sharply, Star Guitar stalked the pace towards the outside. Into the final turn he began to take charge and forged to the front for a clear victory in the stretch.

Star Guitar was bred by Brittlyn Stable and is out of Minit Towinit, a Stakes winner by Malagra. He is a half-brother to Grand Minit and Favorite Minit, both Stakes winners.

Quiet American is the sire of two Eclipse Champions, 22 Graded Stakes winners, and the earners of over $52 million. Among his G1 winners are Kentucky Derby winner Real Quiet and Cara Rafaela, dam of Darley's own Bernardini. In 2011, he has been represented by G1 winner Switch as well as Stakes winner/G1-placed Absinthe Minded, among others.
