Sheza fast runner

What was a competitive sprint through the first three furlongs became a one-horse race in mid-stretch as Regal Ransom’s two-year-old daughter Sheza Fine Justice pulled away in the final stages to break her maiden and become the second winner from her freshman sire’s first crop at Belterra Park. Her time was just 14/100s off the track record for the four and one-half furlongs.

Sheza Fine Justice broke well and tracked closely behind the pacesetter until the top of the stretch. She was passed briefly on the outside by another but then split the two leaders as the field turned for home and widened her winning margin to nearly four lengths at the wire.

Sheza Fine Justice was bred by Greg Justice and Justice Farm in Ohio. Her dam, the Stephen Got Even mare Even Tempo, is a half-sister to multiple Stakes winner and G3-placed Saratoga’s Magic, Stakes-placed Six Numbers and to the dam of multiple Stakes winner and G2-placed Awesome Rhythm.

Regal Ransom, a half-brother to three-time G1 winner Devil May Care, was a multiple Group/Graded winner at three. He defeated stud mate Desert Party in the G2 UAE Derby and then wired the field in the G2 Super Derby defeating Champion Blame. His 108 Beyer in the Super Derby was one of the top five registered for one and one-eighth miles in 2011.
