Royalmania much the best in Prix Finlande

Elusive Quality filly wins at Longchamp

Making her first start since the fall, Elusive Quality's three-year-old daughter Royalmania stamped a win in the Prix Finlande at Longchamp April 6. Sent off as the favorite in the one-and-one-eighth-mile race, the filly settled into second postion tracking the pace. In the stretch Royalmania took over the lead, before keeping away late challenge for the score.

With the win, the Wertheimer Et Frere homebred notched a third win from four starts as the filly won her first two in the fall of 2013. Out of Champion and G1 winner in Argentina Safari Queen, the filly's second dam is another G1 mare in Argentine One Thousand Guineas winner Safari Girl.

Royalmania is the second Stakes winner of the weekend for Elusive Quality, after four-year-old Utopia won the Listed York Stakes at Ascot in Australia. The sire of 32 Graded or Group winners around the world, he is best known for G1 Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones, G1 Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass, Champions Certify and Sepoy, as well as multiple G1-winning filly in Europe Elusive Kate.

Elusive Quality's stud fee for the 2014 breeding season is $50,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
