Prince Alzain reigns in Churchill Stakes

Street Sense colt is 16th Stakes winner for his sire

A winner last time out at Wolverhampton, Street Sense's Prince Alzain made it two in a row November 16 in the Churchill Stakes at Lingfield Park.

Always near the pace, the four-year-old colt won the one-and-one-eighth-mile race in style by bolting to the lead in the final furlong. He is now the 16th Stakes winner for his sire.

Bred by Dermot Cantillon & Patrick Hayes, Prince Alzain is out of the Zilzal mare Monaassabaat, a winner of the Virginia Stakes at Newcastle, who has also produced Stakes winner Echo River. A deep family, the colt's second dam is Champion and multiple G1 winner It's In The Air, also the dam of G2 winner Bitooh and multiple Stakes winner Air Dancer, as well as the dam of G1 winners Musical Chimes and Musical Note.

Street Sense is currently the leading third-crop sire in North America this year. Among his 16 lifetime Stakes winners are talented young filly and G1 Spinaway Stakes winner Sweet Reason, G1 Humana Distaff winner Aubby K, and multiple Graded Stakes winner Unlimited Budget. Street Sense, a son of Street Cry, is still the only horse to ever complete the Breeders' Cup Juvenile and Kentucky Derby double.
