Offlee Wild juvenile Hogy keeps perfect record in Stakes victory

Offlee Wild juvenile Hogy maintained his perfect record August 14 in a highly convincing win in the Brian Barenscheer Juvenile Stakes at Canterbury Park. The gelding broke his maiden at Arlington Park in June by over seven lengths, and returned to the same track for an allowance victory by four lengths.

Making his Stakes debut, Chicago-shipper Hogy positioned himself a few lengths back from the pacesetters during the five and one-half furlong sprint. The son of Offlee Wild pushed hard entering the turn and extended his stride in the stretch to speedily take the victory in the final furlong.

Hogy was bred in Kentucky by Dr. John E. Little nd is the first foal for the Petionville mare Floy. The gelding hails from the extended family of Champion and G1 winner Capote.

Offlee Wild is the sire of 12 Stakes horses, among them Eclipse Champion She Be Wild in his first crop. In 2011 he has also been represented by two-time Stakes winner Local, among others. From a sire family, Offlee Wild is out of a half-sister to leading sire Dynaformer.
