Ocho Ocho Ocho captures Juvenile Turf Sprint Stakes

Street Sense colt Ocho Ocho Ocho has nothing but wins so far in his young career. After breaking his maiden first time out at Santa Anita, the two-year-old returned as the heavy favorite in the Juvenile Turf Sprint Stakes on Breeders' Cup day and lived up to expectations, impressing in the six-and-one-half-furlong race.

Showing good speed early on, Ocho Ocho Ocho settled down at the rail near the lead throughout. Traveling well entering the top of the stretch, the colt took control and let loose down the lane to kick on and easily capture the win.

Bred by Siena Farms LLC, Ocho Ocho Ocho was a $200,000 two-year-old purchase and is a half-brother it G2-placed Private Ensign. The colt is out of Winner, daughter of Pennant Champion, a full-sister to G1 winners Miner's Mark and Traditionally, as well as G1-placed Our Emblem. Winner is a half-sister to G3 winner Animal Spirits and the dam of multiple Graded Stakes winner Interactif.

A son of talented sire Street Cry, Street Sense is the sire of 47 Graded/Group or Stakes horses so far in his career. Among his top runners are three-time G1 winner Sweet Reason, who runs in the G1 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint later in the day, G1 Humana Distaff winner Aubby K, and Australian G1 winner Hallowed Crown. Other impressive winners this year for the sire include Homecoming Classic Stakes winner Cigar Street, who takes on the G1 Breeders' Cup Classic this evening, and exciting two-year-olds Hubba Shake, winner of the Listed Armed Forces Stakes, and Light The City, winner of the Anoakia Stakes in October.

Street Sense will stand the 2015 breeding season for $35,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
