Naughty New Yorker, a wonderfully consistent son of Darley America stallion Quiet American, recorded his eleventh victory at Stakes level on February 18 with an outstanding 12-and-a-half length win in the Master Digby Stakes at Aqueduct.
Tracking the modest early pace, the six-year-old entire was settled on the rail in second position behind R Clear Victory. Moving up on the outside coming around the turn, Naughty New Yorker took the lead at the top of the stretch and from that point on the result was never in doubt as he cruised to victory by no fewer than 12-and-a-half lengths.
Patrick Kelly's charge, who races in the colors of Fox Ridge Farm Inc, has now won on 12 occasions (including the G3 Red Smith Handicap) and has been placed a further 13 times. Bred by Dr. William B. Wilmot & Dr. Joan M. Taylor, he is the best foal out of the Known Fact mare Naughty Natisha and is from the family of European Classic placer and G1 Hollywood Derby third Noble Minstrel.
Quiet American, who has also sired Stakes winner Shopton Lane and a further four horses that have been placed at Stakes level this year, stands at Darley America at a fee of $20,000 Stands and Nurses
