Moiety powers home in Mahoning Distaff

Bernardini filly comes from last to earn her first Stakes win

Bernardini’s four-year-old daughter Moiety earned her first Stakes victory going from last to first to win the six-furlong Mahoning Distaff at Mahoning Valley Race Course on November 20th.

Moiety broke a step slowly and was dead last early before making a four-wide move around the far turn.  She continued to close impressively through the stretch and went on to win going away by just over a length.

Bred in Kentucky by Darley, Moiety is out of Brazilian G1 winner Be Happy (BRZ) (Ghadeer), a two-time champion filly in Brazil.

Bernardini is enjoying yet another successful season in 2017 with 10 black-type winners to date, including Graded Stakes winners Takaful (G1 Vosburgh), Imperative, Le Bernardin, and Watershed.

Bernardini will stand the 2018 season at Jonabell Farm for a fee of $85,000.
