Light The City shines in Anoakia Stakes

Two-year-old Street Sense filly impresses at Santa Anita

Two-year-old Street Sense filly Light The City turned heads after running away in her first start at Del Mar August 24. She followed it up with an equally strong score in the Anoakia Stakes at Santa Anita October 12, keeping a perfect two-for-two record.

In the six-furlong race Light The City was third, eight lengths off the pace along the backstretch. Around the far turn the filly began to close, and took command in the stretch to sweep past them and make it look easy. Seduire, by Elusive Quality, finished second.

Bred by Hargus Sexton & Sandra Sexton, Light The City is out of the AP Indy mare Light From Above, a daughter of G3 winner Very Special Lite. The mare is a half-sister to Graded Stakes winner Strategic Partner, Stakes winner Richies Party Girl, and Graded Stakes-placed Victory Light.

Street Sense continues to produce excellent runners at the track, among them three-time G1 winner Sweet Reason, G1 Humana Distaff winner Aubby K, and Australian G1 winner Hallowed Crown. Recently son Cigar Street took the Homecoming Classic Stakes at Churchill Downs amd two-year-old son Hubba Shake rolled in the Listed Armed Forces Stakes at Gulfstream.
