Holy Boss lets loose in Bachelor Stakes

New Stakes winner for Street Boss at Oaklawn

As an outstanding ten-length debut winner as a two-year-old at Churchill Downs, it came as no surprise April 10 that Holy Boss would become the newest Stakes winner for sire Street Boss in the Bachelor Stakes at Oaklawn Park.

In the six-furlong race, the Street Boss colt set aim on the lead from the start. Traveling comfortably with a one-length advantage, his lead was contested at the top of the stretch but Holy Boss held off foes down the lane and proved best for the win.

Dubbed a TDN Rising Star in his first start, Holy Boss is out of the Holy Bull mare Holy Grace, a half-sister to multiple Graded Stakes winner Mark One, Stakes winner Daiwa Carson, and the dam of G3 winner Pleasant Prince. The colt's second dam is Stakes winner My Marchesa. Holy Boss was bred in Kentucky by Adena Springs.

Holy Boss is the fourth Stakes winner in 2015 for Street Boss, who has also been represented by G3 El Camino Real Derby winner Metaboss, Baffle Stakes winner Bench Warrant, and The Quarterback in Australia. Among the sire's top runners lifetime are G1 Arkansas Derby winner Danza and G1 King's Bishop Stakes winner Capo Bastone.

Street Boss currently stands for $10,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
